Accounts Assistant

 

Permanent Part-Time
Head Office – Ararat

The Role

The Accounts assistant will provide day-to-day support to the Accounts Manager while independently handing specific tasks. Collaborating closely with the Accounts Manager and Financial Controller, the position involves bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, and general office administration to enhance the efficiency of the accounts team.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping

  • Manage accounts inbox
  • Maintain supplier and customer information in Xero
  • Collaborate with farm managers and COOs to ensure all expenses are tracked
  • Organise and file documents.
  • Set up credit accounts with suppliers as needed.
  • Support the Accounts manager with additional data entry tasks as required 

Accounts Payable/Receivable

  • Process invoices, receipts and payments  
  • Manage the accuracy and timely input of invoices 
  • Reconcile statements from suppliers.
  • Reconcile invoices with various farm management software platforms

Office Administration & Organisation

  • Provide administration support to management team.
  • Assist with filing of documents, invoices, and related tasks.
  • Help organise company events such as conferences and group training. 
  • Prepare internal presentations and documents as needed. 

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in bookkeeping and general office administration
  • Excellent written communication skills for preparing correspondence
  • Abilitiy to meet payment deadlines
  • Effective and professional communication skills
  • A team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative

Corporate Development Analyst

 

The Role

Based in Ararat, the Corporate Development Analyst will report to the Commercial Manager, playing a critical role in our growth. You will be involved in corporate acquisitions, capital projects, and financing, as well as ongoing management of our business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary analysis of acquisition opportunities and capital projects.
  • Support due diligence efforts and assist in managing consultants and advisors.
  • Develop and analyse financial models for potential investments.
  • Prepare executive reports and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Assist with financial monitoring, analysis, and packaging of financial information.
  • Take on diverse roles and tasks to support the business’s growth.

What We’re Looking For

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, or Agriculture.
  • Relevant designations or post graduate studies are an asset.

Experience:

  • 0-2 years of experience in private market investments, investment banking, transaction advisory, investment consulting, or a corporate development role within the natural resources sector.
  • Experience in the agriculture sector is highly desirable.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • A passion for agriculture.
  • Confidence and maturity to represent the company effectively.

Mechanic/Asset Supervisor – Cairlocup

 

The Role

The Mechanic/Asset Supervisor plays a key role in the daily operations of the farm, overseeing full-time staff and additional labour during peak times. This position involves close collaboration with the Management Team to ensure that machinery is maintained to a high standard and to facilitate the implementation of new equipment. Additionally, the role includes coordinating with dealers for machinery parts.

The position is based at our Cairlocup aggregation located in Needilup, WA. The farm spans 17,000 hectares dedicated to cropping and features modern machinery with a newly constructed workshop and office complex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Farm Operations including but not limited to:
    • Planting/Sowing
    • Spraying
    • Spreading
    • Harvesting
  • Transporting grain/hay
  • Servicing and maintenance of all farm machinery/equipment, and farm structures

Requirements

Essential qualifications for this role include experience in agriculture/broad acre farming and mechanics. Proficiency in both mechanical and computer skills is important as the position involves servicing and maintaining machinery along with utilising computer systems and reporting activities electronically. The Asset Supervisor is also expected to keep expenditure to the budget for operation of the farm.

A strong knowledge of health and safety requirements, along with managerial skills such as leadership, problem-solving, effective communication, and planning are also important for this role.
