Machinery Operators/Farm Hands – Cherylton

 

We are currently seeking 2 Machinery Operators/Farm Hands to join our Cherylton aggregation. Cherylon is located in Kojonup, WA and consists of both cropping and livestock enterprises.

The Machinery Operator/ Livestock Farm Hand is responsible for the day to day duties on the farm and will work closely with the Farm Management Team.

The position involves performing duties and carrying out work in areas such as: Using farm machinery not stopping at planting/sowing, spraying, spreading, harvesting and transporting grain/hay to the destinations, Shearing, Crutching, Lamb marking, Feeding, Sowing pasture & Crop, hay forage & grain harvest and complete some maintenance of farm structures and equipment.

Experience in agriculture or broad acre farming and machinery also including large scale livestock business is critical to performance in the position. Mechanical and computer skills are important as the position involves servicing and maintaining machines with computer systems and reporting activities electronically.

A good understanding of health and safety requirements and managerial skills covering leadership, problem solving, good written and verbal communication, and planning are also important.

We are currently on the lookout for 2 machinery operator/farm hands to join our Cairlocup team based in Needilup WA. The farm consists of 13000ha of cropping enterprise.

The Machinery Operator / Farm Hand is responsible for the day to day duties on the farm and will work closely with the Farm Manager/Management Team.

The position involves performing duties and carrying out work in areas such as: Using farm machinery not stopping at planting/sowing, spraying, spreading, harvesting and transporting grain/hay to the destinations and complete some maintenance of farm structures and equipment.

Experience in agriculture or broad acre farming and machinery is critical to performance in the position. Mechanical and computer skills are important as the position involves servicing and maintaining machines with computer systems and reporting activities electronically.

Assets Supervisor – Cairlocup

 

The Assets Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the day to day running of the farm and will be responsible for ensuring the crop plan is completed on time and within budget whilst supervising the full-time staff and additional labour during busy periods. 
The Assets Supervisor will work closely with the Management Team on farm planning, crop planning, farm budgeting and implementation of new machinery. Liaising with dealers for machinery parts.

The Role will be located at Cairlocup aggregation located at Needilup WA. The farm consists of 13,000ha of cropping enterprise.

The position involves performing duties and carrying out work in areas such as: Using farm machinery but not limited too; planting/sowing, spraying, spreading, harvesting and logistics transporting grain/hay to the destinations; and servicing and maintenance of all farm machinery/equipment and farm structures. 

Experience in agriculture/broad acre farming and mechanical is critical to performance in the position. Mechanical and computer skills are important as the position involves servicing and maintaining machinery along with utilising computer systems and reporting activities electronically.  The Assets Supervisor is also expected to keep expenditure to the budget for the operation of the farm.

The Company
Excel Farms is a new and fast-growing agriculture company on behalf of a joint venture with Australina and International investors. With a diverse range of properties located in Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and Western Australia, the partnership aims to build a portfolio of agricultural assets primarily producing grains, wool and livestock.
The role will be located at our Wirrinourt aggregation, in Mininera, SW Victoria. The farm
consists of 5400ha of mixed enterprises with 4000ha of winter cropping, with the balance comprising
of primeline and merino ewe flocks, trade lambs and beef.

The Role
Excel Farms is seeking an experienced farm hand to assist with key operations on both the
livestock and cropping enterprises. The position involves performing duties and carrying out work in
areas such as, but not limited to: assisting with day-to-day cropping operations such as spreading,
seeding and harvest along with assisting with livestock operations such as mustering, crutching,
shearing, weighing and assisting at an ad hoc basis where needed. The role will suit a true all-rounder
wanting a diverse range of activities working across both cropping and livestock teams.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with operating machinery
  • Previous experience working with sheep
  • Previous experience with repairs and maintenance on fences and water systems
  • HR/HC Truck driver desirable (not compulsory)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
  • Forklift and Drivers licences
  • First Aid
  • Positive and solution focused attitude
