Role Description

The WHS Officer will provide expertise, guidance, and advice on WHS matters to management, the WHS Committee, and health and safety representatives, ensuring they understand their roles and meet legislative obligations. The position involves preparing monthly reports, making WHS recommendations, and establishing and maintaining strong relationships across the company to reduce risk and ensure a safe workplace. The role also includes developing relationships with external organisations such as WorkSafe, insurers, and professional networks to stay updated on WHS practices.


  • Promote and encourage active participation in WHS programs
  • Conduct regular audits to identify hazards
  • Lead staff in implementing daily safety practices on farm
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Organise and participate in OHS meetings
  • Assist with investigations of work-related incidents
  • Administer the company’s WHS-related registers and systems
  • Coordinate WHS inductions and training for staff
  • Review work processes to minimise WHS Risk

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in WHS management or significant experience in a similar role
  • Proven track record in leading and promoting a safety culture in a complex environment
  • Experience in WHS auditing and workers compensation
  • Ability to provide high-level WHS advice across all organisational levels
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and procedures
  • Experience in developing preventative strategies to minimise risks
  • Ability to meet objectives within time constraints and conflicting demands
  • Effective and professional communication skills
  • Enjoy working with people and motivating staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including self-motivation, assertiveness, confidence and negotiation
